We specialize in on-site start-up and commissioning services. Through our GPT Buildings division, Global Power Technologies offers complete smart building automation systems, from HVAC to access control, lighting to air quality measurement.

Nasser Hamdan
Partner, Business Development, CEM
“As cofounder, my responsibility doesn’t stop at one role,” Nasser Hamdan says, discussing his part in GPT’s continued growth. Nasser started the company with Nabil Taha in 2011 and remains involved in the day-to-day operations, ensuring projects are delivered on-time and on-budget, training teams, and continuing to develop the business.
Growing up, Nasser was influenced by family members who were engineers, but none had gone the route of electrical engineering; “I suppose that was me,” he says. As part of his role with GPT, Nasser has been involved in countless data center projects, has had an opportunity to see rockets being built, and has been on-site in major auto manufacturing centers. Above all, he leads our teams with a steady hand and is a valued resource for our customers.
Nabil Taha
Partner, Business Operations
With projects in 13 countries on 4 continents, including over 100 data center projects making up the infrastructure of the internet as we know it, Nabil Taha’s long resume speaks for itself. With Master’s degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Georgia Tech, Nabil grew up taking things apart and putting them back together, but his wanderlust drove him into electrical engineering. “I didn’t want to sit behind a desk, and this allowed me to travel,” he says.
After starting his career at Siemens, Nabil set out with Nasser Hamdan to start GPT in 2011, where he manages projects all over the world as well as the project management team, and is primarily responsible for the company’s financials. He is also accountable, along with the other members of the management team, for working directly with our customers, ensuring any issues are resolved in a productive manner.
Ken Newsome
Partner, Sales & Marketing
Ken Newsome provides valuable support and insight to the sales and marketing teams while helping to lead the strategic direction of GPT with Nabil and Nasser. Prior to joining GPT in 2013, Ken enjoyed a long career at Siemens, where he moved from Application Engineering to Product Management into Business Development. Over the last 4 years, he helped lead a multi-phase power management system upgrade project, including an overhaul of the server hardware, networking equipment and SCADA software, replacing an obsolete system with a state-of-the-art power management system to monitor a major financial client in New York.
With a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Clemson University, Ken says that he most enjoys the problem-solving aspects of engineering and relishes the opportunity to dig into a tricky problem for a customer.

Our Buildings division features building management systems and building automation solutions, including smart building control sensors and other products.
